OMV is constructing an 870 MW combined gas-fired power plant in Samsun, Turkey. On behalf of OMV, convex ZT GmbH is acting as "Owner's Engineer" for the civil design and civil construction works.

Through the use of the latest technology – specifically, the innovative GE 9 FB technology of project partner GE Energy – this plant will meet every requirement for a modern power plant in terms of overall efficiency and low emissions. A combined cycle power plant (gas and steam turbine power plant) unites the principles of an open cycle power plant with those of a steam power plant. The hot exhaust gas does not simply vaporize without being used; instead, it is routed through a heat recovery boiler and utilized for the operation of a steam turbine.

convex ZT GmbH took part in the technical contract negotiations, prepared the civil works specification, prepared/submitted the permit design, assisted the Owner towards the Authorities in obtaining the construction permit and currently provides design review and supervision works for civil design and civil construction.
